Ozzie, a beszélni és járni tudó koala Ausztráliában él. Egy napon Maxine (Joan Collins), a Happy Toy játékgyár elnöke felismeri az állat képességeiben rejlő üzleti lehetőségeket, és klónozás céljából elraboltatja. Balszerencsés fogdmegjei, Buzz és Tank azonban elveszítik a repülőtéren. Ozzie-t a nyolc éves, ausztráliai nyaralására érkező Justin Morton (Spencer Breslin) találja meg.
