主人公新闻记者泽本大地（反町隆史饰），突如其来接到妻子泽本华织离婚通知，他需要独自扶养自己的儿子泽本羽云（加部亚门饰）。这位父亲，如儿子独白所说，不懂交流、脾气坏又孩子气，他面对突如其来的现实、育儿责任和乱七八糟的家务事，手忙脚乱。可他在与儿子的相依为命中找到最重要的自尊和深情，就在他明白着“为人父者，该怎样活着，该教给孩子些什么”的时候，却发现儿子患上了白血病，当一对父子共同生活的时间不多的时候，他们又能为彼此做些什么呢。
