Mafiapomo Paul Vitti päätyy telkien taakse Sing Singiin ja päättää laulaa. Siis ihan oikeasti. Kalterilintu raakkuu ilmoille West Side Storyn lauluja ja laittaa pystyyn semmoisen shown, että liittovaltion viranomaiset päättävät toimittaa hänet hoitoon. Lopulta katsotaan parhaaksi luovuttaa Vitti terapeutti Ben Sobelin osaaviin käsiin. Pojat ovat palanneet ja huumorinkukka on edelleen se kaunein kukka, kun Robert De Niro (Vitti) ja Billy Crystal (Sobel) nähdään jälleen ykkösosan rooleissaan! Vauhtikaksikko lyöttäytyy taas yksiin ohjaaja Harold Ramisin kanssa; mukana tutun kierossa menossa ovat myös Lisa Kudrow ja Joe Viterelli. Tällä kertaa Vitti on valmis etsimään laillista työsarkaa ja ryhtymään nuhteettomaksi veronmaksajaksi. Tai ainakin niin hän väittää. Mutta voiko ylikierroksilla pörräävä Sobel uskoa Vittiä, varsinkin kun värikkäitä mafiahemmoja tulee vastaan joka puolella. Ennen kuin tämä hämäräsavotta on ohi, Sobel itse voi olla täsmäterapian tarpeessa!
